At first I did a lot of work with figure skaters at the Broadmoor Figure Skating Club in Colorado Springs, and then the opportunity to work with the Broncos came my way. The players saw that I did things a little differently, and several of them decided to ask to work individually with me in the following off-season. I ended up with five Broncos in the off-season, and through trades and one thing or another I eventually ended up working with players from all across the country.

BFS: How did you get the job with the Raiders?
Adams: A couple of my clients played for the Raiders, and when the strength coach for the Raiders left, the organization called and asked me if I would be interested in the job. I originally said no because I was in the process of opening up a facility in Denver, but I said I d be willing to talk to Coach Callahan. He called me the next day. I found him to be an incredible man, a visionary and a great thinker who is committed to what he is doing. By the end of our conversation I knew this was an opportunity I just couldn t turn down.

BFS: What were some of the changes you made when you first took the job with the Raiders?
Adams: One of the first things I tried to accomplish was to create an atmosphere of change. I wanted to let the players know there was a new guy in town and things were going to be different. So I revamped the weight room and brought in roughout the year. There is some comfort in a commitment to be better, knowing that the sacrifices of the past are responsible for our positions in the present.
An inmate leader said, When we started this project, I had no idea the impact the Freedman s Bank records would have on me and the other inmates. This man told, with emotion, of extracting information of fathers who were sold, mothers who were traded and brothers who were shot to death. One record told of a baby traded shortly after her birth for field equipment. The mother did not even have a chance to nams.
Last year, the girls volleyball team ended with the second highest win total in school history (31). They were named the District Champions and lost to the State Runner-up after 3 tough games 16 to 14. This great season was topped only by the year before where they were District Champs and made it to the Regional Final. Also, Coach Christine Robertson was named Conference Coach of the year.
Our Physical Education program has made great strides, proudly states Coach Marty Martens. We have grown from two classes of weight lifting to six. Next year we have the possibility of adding two more sections. There are really two mai reason that this has happened. We now have a uniform program that everyone is following. That program is BFS. The other is the fact that all of the coaches in the system now buy into the program. They have seen the results that our basketball and football program have had and believe that BFS has had something to do with it.
About their athletes tremendous strength gains, Coach Scott Robertson excitedly
