BFS taught them how to do both and keep on task. <br>To emphasize how special his players are, Hamamoto continued,  We are one of the most successful teams this season in San Diego County. But unlike many other winning teams this year, we only had one scholarship---Andy Huang, who is going to play next year at Sacramento State. It was a bunch of very good high school players who decided they were going to be successful. They were dedicated with their workouts and they beat many teams with Division 1 football-scholarship players on them. <br><br> It s Your Loss<br><br> I would not recommend BFS clinics to any school that we play, Hamamoto joked, then continued,  I sure would recommend BFS Clinics and I have. Some coaches are just too stubborn to try, but it s their loss. At the suggestion of Kathy Harris, Coach Harris wife, a reading program was established. On Fridays game days varsity players, dressed in their game shirts, travel to the elementary schools. There they spend 30 to 45 minutes reading to the elementary students, kindergarten through sixth grade. This is a major endeavor requiring coordination and cooperation of administration, high school faculty and staff, elementary teachers, coaching staff and the players. One glance at the expression on the younger students faces as they listen tells the story: the results are worth the effort. <br>It would be wonderful to concltten on the back. Williams wanted more than anything for that dream to come true, and a broken hand wasn't going to stand in his way. The Panthers played like the champions that Coach Culwell taught them that they were and at last the sweet victory came. They no longer had to believe because now they knew that they were champions with the 42-21 win over Holton which gave them the honor to call themselves  1999 State Champions. <br>At the end of the 1999 season, after the Panthers savored their sweet State Championship title, senior quarterback, Kellen Bombardier, tried to express his deepest feelings for Coach Culwell. A lump formed in his throat as emotions of gratitude consumed him. He couldn't get the words out so he expressed his feelings in a letter that thanked Coach Culwell for leading them to success. Bombardier praised,  Thanks for making us elieve that we could be State Champions by making us say it everyday. It was a dream come true to play with all of my best friends and win the State Championship. the weight room or on the practice field, I want to get better everyday. I look at myself at the end of a workout or practice and the goal is to always get better. <br>Doug Hodges is from Miami, Florida and attended Southwest Miami High School. There is no way Doug should be at Marshall or any other Division I school. He is listed on the program at 5- 10 but he is probably closer to 5-8. How can he play the safety position?
